Another fashionable week has gone by and being the magpie I am, I’ve been keeping my eye on all the gorgeous fashion-goings-on to bring you my favourite images of the past week. It may be cold across Europe and snow may have hit your area, but that doesn’t mean we can’t swoon over spring neons and summer brights, it’s all about daydreaming…

First up is an ode to the weather that we’re currently having here in the UK and I love this wintery outfit. As you may know I’m due to go to Venice for my birthday and had had all of my outfits planned, and now Venice is suffering from frozen canals (!) so I have to rethink the whole ‘capsule wardrobe’. (We’re only allowed to take one small case between us!) This outfit is serving as much needed inspiration for a wintery yet chic wardrobe and of course I love the pink hair.

Next up is a piece from New York designer Katie Ermilio’s spring/summer collection and words cannot describe how much I would love this skirt in my collection! Predictably I’m loving it as it’s bright and almost a neon yellow, but also because it’s a simple, tried and tested skirt shape that is just utterly perfect.

Next up is a lady that has enjoyed a bit of a revival at the moment thanks to ‘We’ll Take Manhattan’: it’s Jean Shrimpton. I’m yet to catch up with the mini series which I am super excited about watching, but for now I’m just enjoying this snap of The Shrimp in transit. Ever since I started browsing Look Magazine’s ‘airport fashion’ feature I’ve been obsessed with pictures of the rich and famous arriving at their airport terminals in fantastical ensembles. I think this is all part of my holiday excitement, so wish me luck putting together an airport outfit that’s half as chic.

Ahh bright colours. If you read this blog regularly I apologise, you must be sick of my infatuation with all things bright and fluoro, but I can’t help it. I wish this was a snapshot of my outfit, the cute pleated skirt looks perfect with the gorgeous bag, the jacket is a great clash and there’s even the pop of colour from the bracelets too, swoon.

I literally squealed when one of my favourite beauty bloggers, Fleur De Force, posted about these Meadham Kirchoff nail wraps last week. Soon to be hitting Topshop stores near you these gorgeous wraps are the epitome of super cute. I love anything kawaii and kitsch so you can imagine how much I NEED a pack of these wraps. I don’t know if I’d be brave enough to rock all of the characters on my nails at once, but I’d probably pick one cutesy toon for an accent nail just to add some interest to my mani. Yeah that sentence just happened, what have I become? These are perfect for the Katy Perry in everybody, I’m letting my inner K-Pez out.

Her album came out last Monday and she’s had her fair share of ‘hate’, but moi and the fashion world have been going bananas for Lana. You may think her live performances could do with some work, you might not like that fact that she’s been under the knife, but who cares? Personally Born To Die is one of the only songs I want to listen to at the moment and hell yeah I’m going to buy her album. I like her music, her look and this picture in particular, how cute does it want to be!? Oh, and yesterday I went to three different newsagents in the snow to buy the March Vogue that she’s on the cover of because everywhere was sold out, so she must be doing something right!

Sticking with the cute theme, here’s another lady of the moment, Zooey Deschanel. Having already posted about her amazing New Girl ‘Jess’ outfits on here last week, I thought it was about time to tell you all the outfit I want most, that she’s been sporting. Yes, it’s these too-cute-too-be-true, perfect-for-Valentine’s pyjamas. (I’m blaming the cold weather for the fact that I’m lusting after pyjamas OK?) This is my favourite style of pyjama, I have this style in various patterns; russian dolls, leopard print, mini cupcakes and polka dots (so Zooey) and now I feel that these need to round off my collection. If anyone sees these in a store or online, let me know pronto!

Sweetheart du jour Elle Fanning looks adorable here in this monochrome look, and I LOVE the voluminous updo, tres chic. The gloves are a yes, the cute scalloped peter pan collar is a yes, and the simple and understated, yet super stylish eye make up is a huge yes. There isn’t a single pixel of this look that I don’t want to replicate! Bravo Elle, bravo. (Also for movie fans, Super 8 starring Elle is also a huge yes if you love films like The Goonies and E.T!)

This is another magazine that I feel like I went to the ends of the earth to find. I expected when I lived back in Wales to find it hard to get my hands on a super-fresh copy of a magazine at my local newsagent, but not in London! Thankfully WHSmith was on hand in the snow to provide me with my Vanity Fair fix. There are two reasons I wanted this issue, A. hello it’s the Hollywood up and comers issue! and B. My current fashion faves Rooney Mara and Felicity Jones are on the cover. The styling is amazing and it’s definitely an issue I’ll keep archived (instead of ripping it up for scrapbook fodder as I usually do!)

Last but by no means least just check out this hair! I have never described hair as being a tour-de-force before but I LOVE this! You could literally, I mean literally wear a binbag with this hairdo and look like the coolest person ever. I want it. I love the colour clash with the lipstick too, though as I said I doubt there’s much that WOULDN’T work with this hair. Sigh.

So VFF has been M.I.A for two weeks. Last Friday I had to travel to Northern Ireland last minute with my boyfriend to see his family, so obviously VFF took a backseat, and this week I’ve been busy working on a really exciting VFF post. Seeing as this year is all about ‘the new Jazz age’ and fashion eds the world over have been going bananas for anything ’20s, I thought I’d do a little homage to the upcoming Great Gatsby movie and do a solely ’20s Vintage Frock Friday hopefully in time for next week. Sourcing genuine ’20s dresses and in good condition is proving more difficult than at first anticipated, but the dresses won’t beat me, I WILL find them!

It’s two weeks until the big day and whether you love it or loathe it, you’ve probably already got plans; a date with your man or a boy-free night out with the girls. I’ve scoured the high street to bring you six fab dresses suitable for whatever you’ve got on the agenda, so it doesn’t matter if you’ll be dining or dancing there’s something here for everyone’s V-Day needs.

The Dresses

First up this gorgeous Motel dress caught my eye due its forties-esque shape. This is a perfect first date dress as it combines cutesy print and flirty shape without being too OTT. Team this with neutral make up and loose waves for a laidback look that’s pretty rather than prim.

Up next this fun bodycon dress is definitely one for the fashion conscious with its Christopher Kane-esque neon lace. This dress is great for cocktails with the girls and would look amazing with Zooey Deschanel style cat eyes and a super 60s beehive. Keep the accessories to a minimum and let the dress do all the talking, just don’t forget your killer heels.

If a date with your boyfriend is on the cards and you want to look amazing, look no further than this gorgeous Topshop dress that’s super sexy without flashing the flesh. The flattering long sleeves mean you won’t be freezing to death in this cold spell but you can still look chic. Team with black opaques to balance out the glimpse of midriff and add black heels to elongate your pins.

If you’re a vintage fan and you fancy yourself as a bit of a Dita, feast your eyes on this gorgeous vintage style pink peplum dress with sweetheart neckline. This dress screams Valentine’s and its figure flattering shape means its perfect for every size. Back to Motel again with this form fitting frock that shows off your curves without showing skin. If your legs are your prized asset, rock bare legs with this for a night out, or wear it for dinner with opaques and your favourite confidence boosting heels. This week’s Stylish Ten is all about clothes. Clothes, clothes, clothes. One of my favourite things to do on a lazy afternoon is browse through my list of favourite style blogs and find inspiration from bloggers’ outfits from around the globe. I love seeing how other people put things together, often in ways you wouldn’t have thought of and it just so happens that all the stylish ten this week are rocking looks that I utterly love. Let’s get started with this cute look which I am super in love with. I love how it traverses both the preppy and prim trend whilst adding kooky little accessories. Look at that adorable ‘door knocker’ brooch at the collar! This is layering done really well and subtly, check out the polka dot shirt underneath the lacy dress and then that gorgeous blazer!

This off-duty look from Daisy Lowe is one of my favourite looks of last week perhaps because it looks so cosy, warm but still damn cool. There’s something a little bit Lisbeth Salander about it, in a good way. Daisy softens the leather jacket and biker boots with grey leggings and a cosy scarf and I’m definitely recreating this for my next run to the shops.

Next up there are so many things I love about this look. A. the hair, B. the dress, C. how the hair and the dress go so well together. This picture is seriously making me want to go out and dye my hair but that hue is never going to look as good on me. The Zooey Deschanel style hair cut is something I’m trying to grow my hair into at the moment so maybe I’ll be the blonde version of this photo soon? Unlikely but still, I can dream!

Jean Paul does it again at this year’s couture show and boy do I want this dress, even if just to parade around the house in! The huge pink updo is doing it for me aswell, you may know by now that I love everything and anything pink (especially at the moment) and the Charlotte Free-esque pink hair movement that’s sweeping the catwalks is seriously up my street.

Elizabeth Olsen, she’s been featured on this here blog a lot lately, I think it’s because everything she wears I could see myself wearing. I like to think if I were rich and famous and had style icon twin sisters I would dress just like this. When they posted this picture, Glamour said that it should be wrong but somehow it’s not, something I totally agree with. On paper this is a disaster waiting to happen, but in real life (or celeb-land) it’s working and I love it all.

She sure knows how to dress and although so many of her outfits lately have caught my eye, I think it’s this one in particular that I love most. Rose Byrne gets it super right at the SAG Awards. That bob is amazing isn’t it? And that jumpsuit is a breath of fresh air and a nice break from all the frothy frocks that went down the red carpet that night. Looking super chic, this is a look I’d love to see more of from Rose, her fashion evolution is in full swing!

As a huge Marina and the Diamonds fan it was about time Marina made it onto this list. Finally she has for rocking this ensemble that is the perfect texture mix: quilted jacket, silky dress, snakeskin bag. If I could have one thing from this look, it would definitely be that gorgeous Vivienne Westwood bag although I’m loving the peep of glitzy necklace!

Admittedly, Alesha Dixon isn’t usully someone I look to for style inspiration, however I’m loving this look that she wore for some Britain’s Got Talent auditions. The jewelled shirt is a particular winner for me, and I love the pops of colour from the skirt, shoes and of course the lipstick. It’s just enough glam and it looks super chic, a great interpretation of the neon trend.

Finally it’s back to pastels again with this look, and oh, what a surprise, lots of pink! This cute look is so SS/12 and a great way to work pastels for the day. As soon as it gets a bit warmer here in Blighty I’ll definitely be trying out some looks like this! Love!

It’s a new week and time to look back at the most stylish images I came across last week. As we’re going into spring (Ok, maybe not THAT soon) I’m feeling serious colour and am attracted to anything and everything bright at the moment. Colour blocking be it with neons, pastels, or dare I say it, a mix, is what I’m drawn to which is going to be blatantly obvious when you scroll down through my picks this week. I love the graded sleeves on the coat and the green, orange and print together, it’s so happy! This week I happily discovered a new amazing blog called Bicyclette. The blog is run by the owners of a boutique in Toronto who post up their latest collections and inspiration. While we might not be able to buy the gorgeous things they sell, we can indeed take inspiration from their stylish snaps. Who’s for working a whole arm of neon? I’m in.

As you may know I’m a huge vintage fan and I love this editorial image, it’s so cute! Look at that structured coat dress teamed with Miu Mius! Is that not the stuff of dreams? This to me is pure photographic perfection. Magazines take note, more style pages like this please.

A break in the brights now, you’re going to need it! This eyelash look is everywhere at the moment and I really like it. I’ve always been one for layering my mascara and creating big eye looks so I’m glad the fashion world is also embracing it, the heavy lip/no mascara look a la Tilda Swinton just does not work for me. This look reminds me of the ‘spiky’ lash look that Lisa Eldridge used on Emma Watson for the November Elle cover, click here to watch her how-to video.

Leopard print is my forever print. Whether it’s in style or not, I’ll always be wearing it. The day I don’t try and incorporate it into an outfit should be the day my friends worry. This take on leopard print is super cool, I love the mix of rock and roll and vintage style, it feels really youthful and just, fun, not taking itself too seriously at all.

Next up is Kirsten Dunst’s Rodarte dinner look, which if you described it would sound awful: yellow jacket paired with white work-style shirt and yellow patterned trousers. Her stylist definitely did not pitch this look over the phone did she. All that aside, I obviously love it or it wouldn’t be on this list, what I love about it however is yet to be defined.

When one of the Bicyclette girls tweeted this instagram picture this week, I immediately felt the need to don a lime jumper and paint my nails with my new Orly Oh Cabana Boy! They aptly named this image neon on neon, which is pretty much spot on. Where can I get a lime jumper. WHERE!?

This is a summery look she sported last year I believe and one which as soon as it’s warm enough I will be replicating. The Stylish Ten has flown by today, I can’t believe I’m on the last image already! Finally it’s Louis Vuitton’s latest candy coloured campaign in all its glory. Hairbands, cutesy two-pieces, ice cream sundaes, heels AND bags, someone prop me up, it’s all too much. In a good way.

So despite having blogged for over 2 years now, I’ve still never done any outfit posts and that’s all about to change! OOTD blogs are some of my favourite blogs to follow and I can see why they’re so popular, I love seeing how other bloggers put together their looks and taking inspiration from their outfits. Seeing as I blog so much about things I’ve bought and am loving on the high street, I thought it was about time you guys got to see how I put together my high street looks, so voila!

This won’t be a daily thing but I’ll try and post up an outfit whenever it’s warranted or special enough. Of course I’ll post up my premiere outfit tomorrow and all the exciting outfits I take to Venice but I thought this post would be a chance for you guys to see an everyday outfit from me (and give me a chance to get used to it!) A lot of this stuff is pretty old, (no, not vintage). I love keeping old favourites until they come back round in style again. As you can probably tell I’m a nautical freak and there’s nothing I love more than a good old stripy tee to start off an outfit. The top, skirt and tights are all Primark and the skirt in particular was a bargain at £2 in the sale last year! My coat was from River Island about 2 years ago and it’s still going strong, I’m still as in love with it as the day I bought it. The shoes are H&M, the bag was a Christmas present 2 years ago from River Island (and still in good condition) and the necklace is reasonably new from a cute little boutique in Kingly Court just off Carnaby Street.

I’m sending a lot of love out for this necklace, it’s by a jewellery company called Faiths Bizzar and they are on Etsy so click here to see more! As I said I got mine from a store (I can’t remember the name of it sorry!) in Kingly Court on Carnaby Street for a lowly £10!

Finally my nails are Bourjois’ Tangerine Fatal that I featured in my impulse purchase of the week last week. My ring is an ‘antique’ dress ring from Portobello Road Antiques Market, not sure how ‘antique’ really, but I loved it so I bought it anyway!

In at 3 is a beautiful ballgown that’s deinitely not for everyone. Whether you’d wear this flouncy frock or not, you’ve got to appreciate it’s historical value, it’s a true 1950s classic, I can definitely see Mad Men’s Betty sporting this for a special event. In gorgeous pastel spring colours if you’re brave enough this is a great investment for the season to come, and a dress you’d treasure forever.

Taking second place this week is also the second piece of pastel perfection. Tying in well with the style season to come, this dress is a perfect on-trend piece to incorporate into your wardrobe. Layer over with a cute cropped pastel jacket, cutesy shoes and a hairband for the sweet, spring look seen all over the catwalks, for only £65 you can’t afford to miss out!

In first place this week is a dress I’m so desperate to get my hands on. There’s something about printed vintage dresses like this that I absolutely love! This classic cut 1950s frock is covered in pictures of a European city, but the seller is still trying to work out where it is! This is such a cute dress for a summer wedding as it’s something genuinely different that can be styled up for day or night. The cinched in waist and cut off sleeves make this shape super slimming and flattering. I’ll race you to the buy button!
